Guy Carpenter & Company, a global risk and reinsurance specialist, has hired Okan Utkueri as managing director and head of the firm’s operations in Turkey.
Utkueri will be based in Istanbul where he will work with the CEO of Continental Europe and MENA Massimo Reina.
He previously served as CEO of Turkish insurance firm Eureko Sigorta and was on the board for the Turkish Catastrophe Insurance Pool (DASK), Turkish Agricultural Insurance Pool Management Company, and the Association of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies.
Reina has commented on the employment of Utkueri: “[He] will be spear-heading our drive to further develop and enhance our operations in Turkey.”
“His extensive industry experience has enabled him to build the levels of trust and understanding that are essential to building long-term, productive client relationships.”
Nick Frankland, CEO of EMEA operations at Guy Carpenter, echoed Reina’s statement: “We are committed to expanding our local presence, and in his new role, Utkueri will play an integral part in this.”
